The Royal Thai Embassy, led by H.E. Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the United States, together with Team Thailand in the U.S.—including the Office of Commercial Affairs and the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), New York Office— jointly welcomed a Thai delegation to the 2025 SelectUSA Investment Summit. Held at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in Maryland from 11-14 May 2025, the Summit is an annual investment promotion event organized by the U.S. Department of Commerce.
This year’s Thai delegation—the largest to date—included high-level representatives from both the public and private sectors. The public sector was led by Dr. Nalinee Taveesin, President of Thailand Trade Representatives, Mr. Chutintorn Gongsakdi, Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Wirat Tatsaringkansakul, Deputy Secretary-General of the BOI. The private sector was led by Dr. Poj Aramwattananont, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade of Thailand.
The delegation also included representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Commerce, BOI, Thai Chamber of Commerce, Board of Trade of Thailand, and leading Thai companies with significant investments in the U.S., such as SCG Packaging Public Company Limited, Charoen Pokphand Group, Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (North America), Banpu Public Company Limited, PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP), PTT International Trading USA Inc. (PTTT USA), Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO Group), Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited, Thai Summit America Corporations, Thai Union Group Public Company Limited. Representatives from the Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation (CSII) also joined the group.
During the Summit, Ambassador Suriya and the Thai delegation were briefed on the investment policies and economic opportunities of each U.S. state. They also engaged in networking sessions with senior officials from the U.S. Department of Commerce to exchange views on ways to further enhance Thailand–U.S. trade and investment relations.
The Thai delegation’s participation in this year’s SelectUSA Summit was a resounding success, sending a clear message about the Thai private sector’s readiness to further expand its investments in the U.S. These efforts aim to promote a more balanced trade relationship with the U.S. and strengthen the longstanding Thai-U.S. economic partnership. The visit also helped expand the delegation’s networks across both the public and private sectors between the two countries.
