On 21 February 2023, Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the U.S. met Mr. Dave Martin, Mayor Pro-Tem of Houston during Ambassador’s official visit to Texas.

Both sides discussed ways to expand trade and investment as well as enhance cooperation in various sectors such as energy security, clean energy technology, medical and healthcare, electric vehicles.

Ambassador Tanee discussed the possibility of establishing a new Thai consulate in Houston, pending an approval from the Thai government, which Mr. Martin stands ready to support. Ambassador Tanee also thanked Mr. Martin and the city of Houston for taking care of the local Thai community and business people in Houston.
