American private jet manufacturer Gulfstream Aerospace has appointed MJets, a Thai charter and aircraft maintenance firm, as its sales representative in the Kingdom, with the aim of tapping into the growing wealth of Thailand’s tycoons and leading corporations.

Thailand’s top corporations and members of the elite have certainly been flying high in recent years, breaking into the upper echelons of the Fortune 500 and lists of the wealthiest individuals in the region. With soaring wealth comes increasing demand for luxury and private air travel. At the same time, the Kingdom has been emerging as an aviation hub in Asia and the Pacific.

“MJets is a well-respected member of the business aviation community and an ideal partner, given their strong customer relationships and shared commitment to excellence,” said Michael Swift, group vice president of international sales at Gulfstream.

“As we continue to see business aviation grow throughout Asia, we are looking forward to leveraging MJets’ local expertise to provide customers and prospects with the opportunity to experience the high quality and craftsmanship of Gulfstream aircraft firsthand,” he added.

MJets was founded in 2007 by William Heinecke, a highly successful American-born Thai businessman and Chairman of Minor Corporation, and Kirit Shah, whose GP Group spans several industries including technology and aviation.

The company operates in Thailand, Singapore, Cambodia, India and Myanmar. It provides VIP charter flights, air ambulance services, FBO facilities, as well as aircraft management, maintenance, brokerage and consulting. The firm already offers a Gulfstream G550 and GV for private charters.

“This appointment allows us to bring Gulfstream’s vision, performance and craftsmanship closer to our customers—supported by local expertise, long-term operational understanding, and a shared standard of excellence,” Shah said.
