His Excellency Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the United States, initiated and accompanied a U.S. Congressional Delegation to Thailand on 15-20 August 2026 comprising Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia (D-TX) and Congresswoman Lucy McBath (D-GA) and their staff, together with representatives of the U.S.-Asia Institute. Fruitful meetings were held with Her Excellency Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, Minister of Industry, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, Vice Minister for Commerce, Vice Minister for Finance, Second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Permanent Secretary for Defence, Deputy Police Commissioner General, and Bangkok Governor.

The discussions centered on reinforcing the alliance and strategic partnership between Thailand and the United States, enhancing economic links and fighting common challenges such as Online scams. Ambassador Suriya also was a panelist in and gave a speech at the Thailand-US Trade and Investment Summit organized by the Thai Chamber of Commerce and U.S. Chamber of Commerce and attended by about 50 U.S. companies and over 100 participants to promote enhanced business links and opportunities between the private sectors of the two countries.
