On 11 October 2023, the Royal Thai Embassy organized blessing and alms-giving ceremony, and wreath-laying ceremony on the occasion of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great Memorial Day 13 October 2023 at Wat Thai Washington, D.C. in Maryland. The ceremony was presided over by Ambassador Tanee Sangrat, with participation from Royal Thai Embassy and Team Thailand officials, staff, and family members, as well as Thai communities in Washington, D.C. and nearby areas.

The Ambassador laid a wreath in front of a portrait of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and gave a citation honoring His Late Majesty’s extraordinary contribution to the Thai people. The Ambassador also led the observation of 89 seconds of silence in remembrance of His Late Majesty.
