On 4 October 2023, Ambassador Tanee Sangrat met with Assistant Administrator Jane Nishida of EPA’s Office of International and Tribal Affairs to explore ways to expand Thai-US cooperation on environmental protection, which is area of priority for both countries.

The two sides discussed the issues ranging from air quality management (PM 2.5 pollution), water management, plastic pollution, waste water, marine debris, and climate change that Thailand and the U.S. can further exchange knowledge and expertise and collaborate at the bilateral, trilateral, and regional level by utilizing the existing mechanism of agencies such as Department of State, USAID, and TICA.
