On 8 June 2024, Ambassador Suriya Chindawongse presided over and delivered welcoming remarks at the 46th Annual General Meeting of the Thai Sangha Assembly in the U.S.

The meeting was  chaired by Somdet Phra Maha Thirachan, Member of Supreme Sangha Council, abbot of Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram Rajwaramahawihan, and the chairman of the Office of Overseas Missionary Supervision. The Ambassador reiterated the significance of the monastic community to the Thai community in the U.S. and their collaborative efforts with respective Thai agencies to promote culture, disseminate information, and assist Thai nationals abroad. He also emphasized the cooperation between the Embassy and U.S. authorities in preventing crimes currently affecting temples across the U.S.
