On 30 August 2023, Ambassador Tanee met with Dr. John J. Hamre, CSIS President and CEO and Mr. Gregory B. Poling, Senior Fellow and Director, Southeast Asia Program and Asia Maritime Transparency Initiative, to foster ties between the Embassy and CSIS, which is a leading think tank in the US.

The two sides discussed issues and exchange views on topics of mutual interests including Thai politics, US-Thai and ASEAN relations, US-China competition, and the situation in Myanmar. The Ambassador also explored possible cooperation with CSIS such as in the Speaker Series during high-level visits from Thailand as well as the track 1.5 or track 2 dialogues.
