Both sides exchanged views on potential areas of cooperation including air quality management, climate change resilience, sustainable finance, energy for development and energy security, as well as ASEAN-U.S. collaboration as a model for regional partnerships. They also explored opportunities to strengthen collaboration through knowledge exchange, joint research and innovation-driven initiatives. The discussions reflected a shared commitment to advancing sustainable development and cooperation in science, technology and innovation for the mutual benefit of Thailand and the U.S.

In this connection, Mr. Tim J. Gabel, President and CEO of RTI, welcomed the Ambassador and representatives of Team Thailand which included Mr. Jak Sangchai, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission; Ms. Adhinand Indrapim, Minister for Agricultural Affairs; Ms. Aroonsri Methisariyapong, Minister for Economic and Financial Affairs; Mr. Thitidej Tularak, Minister-Counsellor for Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation; and officials of the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C.

On the same day, the Ambassador hosted a lunch for Thai students in North Carolina. He discussed with Duke University students on their academic pursuits, research activities and overall well-being. He also encouraged the students to keep connected with one another and with the Thai community while reaffirming the Embassy’s commitment to supporting Thai students throughout their studies in the U.S.
