Ambassador Tanee attends the 2023 meeting of Thai professionals in the U.S. and meets the Thai community in Denver, Colorado

On 9 September 2023, Ambassador Tanee Sangrat attended the 2023 meeting of Thai professionals in the U.S., held in Denver, Colorado. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Sirirurg Songsivilai, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation and included executives from relevant Thai government agencies, as well as representatives from prominent Thai professional associations in the U.S., namely the Association of Thai Professionals in America and Canada (ATPAC), Thai Physicians Association of America (TPAA ), Thai American Samakkee Coalition, Nuad Thai and Spa Association of America (NTSAA), Thai American Bar Association (TABA), and the Association of Thai Students in America (ATSA). More than 40 participants gathered to further the outcomes of the 3rd Joint Committee Meeting on Science and Technology (JCM), as well as to exchange knowledge, expertise, and experiences.

Ambassador Tanee extended his warm welcome to the participants, emphasizing the mission of the Royal Thai Embassy in strengthening the status and role of the Thai community in the U.S., particularly national-level Thai organizations / associations and the network of young professionals. He highlighted activities that are beneficial to the Thai community, such as knowledge-sharing seminars, first and second-generation Thai-Americans mentorship programs for the young generations, and initiatives to engage young Thai-Americans through programs like the Thai-American National Internship Program (TANIP). He expressed gratitude to the Thai communities and volunteers from across the U.S. for their participation in the successful Sawasdee DC Thai festival on 2 July 2023. Furthermore, Ambassador Tanee mentioned the establishment of the U.S.-Thai Alliance Caucus in the House of Representatives to enhance relations with U.S. congressional members and advance the Thai-U.S. bilateral interests in various dimensions. He also emphasized the significance of Thai festivals and efforts to promote the Year of Science, Technology, and Innovation collaborations between Thailand and the U.S. in 2024.

On the same day, Ambassador Tanee visited Wat Buddhawararam where he met with the Thai community in Denver. During the visit, he discussed and exchanged views on ways to strengthen the Thai community in the U.S. and the consular work of the Royal Thai Embassy and the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Los Angeles, which has jurisdiction over Colorado. Thai community in Denver expressed their appreciation to the staff of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Los Angeles, particularly for the mobile consular services.
