Ambassador Suriya joins Thai SelectUSA delegation for engagement with U.S. private sector

On 12 May 2025, H.E. Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the U.S., joined the Thai delegation attending 2025 SelectUSA Investment Summit, led by Dr. Nalinee Taveesin, President of Thailand Trade Representatives, Mr. Chutintorn Gongsakdi, Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Wirat Tatsaringkansakul, Deputy Secretary-General of the BOI, and Dr. Poj Aramwattananont, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade of Thailand, in a meeting with Mr. Charles Freeman, Senior Vice President for Asia, U.S. Chamber of Commerce (USCC) and USCC executives. Thailand’s leading companies were also present.
 
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the current U.S. economic outlook, with a focus on trade and tariff policies and their potential implications for the business community. They also discussed ways to further strengthen their economic partnership, reaffirming their readiness to working closely together to advance their long-term shared interests moving forward.
 
Later in the day, the Thai delegation attended a networking event co-hosted by the U.S.-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) and The Asia Group (TAG). There, the delegation had the opportunity to connect with representatives from major U.S. companies affiliated with USABC and The Asia Group (TAG). The U.S. private sector expressed appreciation for Thailand’s strong participation at this year’s Summit—marked by the largest Thai delegation ever—which underscored Thailand’s commitment to deepening its economic partnership with the U.S.
