On 11 May 2025, H.E. Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the U.S., along with Team Thailand in Washington, D.C., comprising Office of Commercial Affairs and Thailand Board of Investment, New York Office, welcomed and hosted a briefing at the Royal Thai Embassy for the Thai delegation attending the SelectUSA Investment Summit, which was led by Dr. Nalinee Taveesin, President of Thailand Trade Representatives, Mr. Chutintorn Gongsakdi, Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Poj Aramwattananont, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade of Thailand. The briefing was also joined by representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Commerce, Thai Chamber of Commerce, Board of Trade of Thailand and leading Thai companies with significant investments in the U.S., such as PTT International Trading USA Inc. (PTTT USA), Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO Group) and Thai Union Group Public Company Limited.

During the briefing, Ambassador Suriya provided a comprehensive overview of the current U.S. political and economic landscape. The delegation also discussed a unified strategic communication approach to convey key messages during the 2025 SelectUSA Investment Summit, highlighting the importance of Thai-U.S. alliance and strategic partnership and Thailand’s readiness to working closely with the U.S. to help achieve an early “quick win”, particularly by exploring the potential to expand Thai investments in the U.S. and explore increases of imports of U.S. agricultural and energy products, with the aim of fostering a more balanced and mutually beneficial economic relationship.
