On 7 October 2026, H.E. Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the United States, presided over a Buddhist chanting ceremony and the offering of alms to Buddhist monks in remembrance of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, on the occasion of Navamindra Maharaj Day, 13 October 2026, as well as volunteer activities at Wat Thai Washington D.C., including organizing temple supplies and preparing documents for the temple’s activities.

Heads of Team Thailand agencies, officials and spouses of Team Thailand, as well as members of the Thai community in Washington, D.C. and surrounding areas, also participated in the activities.
