On April 8, 2025, Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the United States, met with Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) to discuss and exchange views on regional security, defense cooperation between Thailand and the United States as long-time allies, and trade relations between Thailand and the U.S and the state of Nebraska. On this occasion, both parties reaffirmed the importance of the U.S. role in the Indo-Pacific region and the enduring 192-year alliance between Thailand and the United States.
