Everyone is welcome to join the parties. With an almost non-stop schedule of celebrations and events over the next seven months, Thailand will be the world’s ultimate destination for festivals, embellishing its strength in tourism, according to a leading travel industry website.
“Thailand is set to captivate global travelers with an ambitious seven-month-long tourism extravaganza – Thailand Summer Festivals – designed to sustain a continuous flow of visitors throughout the year,” wrote the Travel and Tour World website.
The site estimated that the promotion would push tourism revenues to roughly $100 billion for this year, nearly double the total for 2024. The effort also represents a shift from a focus on promoting tourism during the high season that runs from November through April.
“Tourism is a key driver of Thailand’s economy, contributing over 14 percent of GDP. Our goal is to establish Thailand as a year-round travel destination, reducing the low-season impact with vibrant festivals and cultural experiences,” said Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra.
Travel and Tour World wrote that “As the country embraces a year-round tourism model, the T Festivals stand as a bold declaration of its commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and cultural brilliance.”
Thailand does have an abundance of festivals with the most famous being Songkran, the Buddhist New Year festival characterized by water throwing and water-gun battles.
Other fun-filled festival in Thailand include the Rocket Festival, the Pride Festival, the Ghost Festival, the Candle Festival, the Rolling Loud Festival, the Samui Regatta, and the Isan World Art and Culture Festival among many others.
