On March 3, 2025, H.E. Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, the Ambassador of Thailand to the U.S., met with Ms. Daniella Levine Cava, Mayor of Miami-Dade, to discuss: (1) immigration; (2) the promotion of trade and investment between Thailand and Miami, particularly in the Thai film industry and Miami's agricultural sector (Miami is one of the largest producers of tropical fruits in the United States and home to a major agricultural industry), and (3) Cultural exchange and tourism. The Ambassador thanked Mayor Cava for her ongoing support of the Thai-American community in Miami, including assistance to Thai temples and the organization of the Asia Culture Festival. In response, Mayor Cava expressed her appreciation for the strong Thai-American presence in Miami.

 

On the same day, Ambassador Suriya also met with Anthony Rodriguez, Chairman of Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners to promote Thai-Miami relations in all dimensions.
