On 7 February 2025, H.E. Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the United States, met with Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ), Co-Chair of the Congressional-Executive Commission on China (CECC) and the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission. On this occasion, both sides discussed ways to strengthen Thai-U.S. relations and various areas of cooperation between the two countries, particularly in trade, investment, development and human rights promotion and protection as well as in combatting human trafficking and transnational crime.
