On 27 May 2026, H.E. Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the United States, presided over a Buddhist chanting ceremony and offered lunch to Buddhist monks at Wat Thai Washington, D.C., to make merit and pay tribute to Her Majesty the Queen. The ceremony was attended by heads of Team Thailand offices, Embassy officials and their spouses, as well as members of the Thai community in Washington, D.C. and nearby states. Following the ceremony, the Ambassador led participants in a volunteer activity to mark this auspicious occasion by cleaning the ordination hall and surrounding areas of the temple.
On 2 June 2026, the Ambassador presided over a ceremony at the Royal Thai Embassy to present floral offerings and pay homage before the portrait of Her Majesty the Queen, followed by a candle-lighting ceremony and the signing of a book of well wishes in honour of Her Majesty. The ceremony was attended by heads of Team Thailand offices, Embassy officials and their spouses.
