First, it was Asia. Now, it’s New York. Thailand’s global pop superstar Lalisa “Lisa” Manobal intends to capture hearts in the Big Apple when she coheadlines the Global Citizen Festival in New York’s Central Park this September.

The performance will be Lisa’s first at a festival as a solo artist – and it is all for a good cause. Global Citizen, also known as the Global Poverty Project, is an education and advocacy group dedicated to ending extreme poverty and social injustices. The organization calls on corporate leaders to take urgent action to defeat poverty and defend the planet.

“Lisa is not only an incredible performer, but also a powerful advocate, leveraging her voice and platform to drive action on some of the most urgent challenges our world is facing,” said Katie Hill, Global Citizen’s Senior Vice President and Head of Music, Entertainment, and Artist Relations.

Lisa will be joined on the September 28 bill by Post Malone, Doja Cat, Jelly Roll, Rauw Alejandro and a lineup of other artists. Hollywood film star Hugh Jackman will serve as host of the festival.

Lisa has previously thrilled festival audiences as a member of the K-Pop supergroup BLACKPINK. One year ago, they delivered a spectacular performance at the 2023 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

At the end of  June, Lisa released her third single, “Rockstar.” On July 9, “Rockstar” debuted at number 1 on Billboard Global (Excluding the U.S.) Chart, Number 4 on the Global 200, number 2 on the Rap Digital Song Sales Chart, and number 7 on the main Digital Song Sales Chart, making it the seventh best-selling song in the United States, according to the website Soompi.

Lisa has founded her own management company named LLOUD and recently signed with RCA Records.

New York, get your dancing shoes on.
