The time to invest in Thailand is now. Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin sees Thailand’s partnership with the United States entering a new chapter, one that is green, forward-looking, and economically interconnected, as he urged American businesses to ramp up investments in the Kingdom.

Prime Minister Srettha assured American companies that his government is committed to increasing the ease of doing business in Thailand and vowed to push ahead with any reforms relating to the business community that have been lagging.

“We count on all of your support in raising our economic partnership to the next level. Please rest assured my government is here to listen and work with you. Like I always say — what should be done, will be done,” said Prime Minister Srettha.

The Prime Minister made his comments during a speech at the Thailand-U.S. Trade and Investment Conference 2024 in Bangkok last week. His audience included about 300 people from the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC), the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (USCC).

He said that his “Ignite Thailand” economic agenda contains and creates opportunities that should appeal to American companies and investors.

Prime Minister Srettha said he appreciated his conversations with the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand and valued its recommendations. In particular, he cited the Chamber’s five proposals for making business easier in the Kingdom. The proposals relate to simplifying the licensing process, improving customs clearances, simplifying the Board of Investment application process, simplifying access to labor, and focusing on infrastructure development for sustainable growth.

The Prime Minister said that his agenda includes improving logistics and supply chain, focusing on aviation industry, making Thailand a digital hub in the region, and supporting investments in people-to-people mobility and tourism.
