On 14 December 2023, Ms. Chuliepote Isarankura Na Ayudhaya, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Royal Thai Embassy, attended the opening of the US-ASEAN Center in Washington D.C. organized by the US Department of State and Arizona State University (ASU).
Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), Representative Joaquin Castro (D-TX), Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs Liz Allen, ASU Chief Operating Officer Christopher B. Howard, and Embassy of Indonesia Chargé d’affaires Ida Bagus Made Bimantara delivered congratulatory remarks on the establishment of the Center, which will play a pivotal role in strengthening US and ASEAN ties in all aspects. They also reiterated the importance of the US-ASEAN cooperation, which has contributed to the peace and prosperity of the Indo-pacific for more than four decades.
The Center will further deepen the US-ASEAN relations while bolstering support for US economic and cultural engagement with Southeast Asia.
