On June 29th, 2024, Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, the Ambassador of Thailand to the United States, and Senator Tammy Duckworth, along with Consul-General Mrs. Katanawadee Kalayanamit, attended the Khon performance to celebrate the 38th Anniversary of Wat Buddha-Dhamma at Wat Buddha-Dhamma in Chicago, Illinois. Attendees enjoyed cultural performances by professional Khon performers from the Office of Music and Drama, The Fine Arts Department of Thailand and other cultural performances by teachers and students from the Thai Cultural and Fine Arts Institute of Chicago (TCFAI). Some of the performances involved Thai artists and US artists of Thai descent performing together. After the performances, the Ambassador of Thailand to the United States met and held discussions with the local Thai community.

Promoting Thai culture and strengthening Thai community abroad is an integral part of the missions of the Royal Thai Embassies and the Royal Thai Consulates-General worldwide.
