On 21 October, Ambassador Tanee Sangrat, Mrs. Sangrat, and Dr. Sethapan Krajangwongs, Minister Counsellor for Educational, Scientific, Research, and Innovation, joined the event organized by the Association of Chulalongkorn University Alumni, Mid-Atlantic Region, to commemorate the benevolence of H.M. King Chulalongkorn the Great, who founded Chulalongkorn University. The event also provided an opportunity to raise funds and donations to support needy students from rural areas in Thailand through the Chula Rural Project, as well as to fund language and cultural education for Thai students and interested individuals at Wat Thai Washington, D.C.

Ambassador Tanee also informed the participants about the important upcoming work such as the APEC Economic Leaders Meeting in San Francisco, aimed at attracting trade and investment to Thailand and the Southeast Asian region.  Additionally, efforts are being made to facilitate meetings between Prime Minister and Thai communities in the U.S. west coast.  More events are Thai National Day celebration, and Sawasdee DC Thai Festival next year.
