On Monday, February 3, 2025, Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the United States, hosted a dinner reception for members of the Thai Community in the DMV area at the Royal Thai Embassy. The annual reception was organized to strengthen the Thai community while expanding the network of those residing in Washington, D.C., and the surrounding areas. In attendance were members of various Thai associations and clubs, Thai scholarship recipients and privately funded students, as well as professionals from different sectors, including officials from international organization, totaling around 100 attendees.

During the event, the Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the Thai community for their contributions and partnership, which have led to the success of many activities in 2024. He also took the opportunity to inform participants about this year’s events, particularly the Sawasdee DC Thai Festival 2025, which will take place in September and welcomes the community contributions. Furthermore, Ambassador Suriya highlighted important policies of the new U.S. administration and their possible implications for the Thai people including those who reside in the U.S.
